Date Night & The Weekend

Friday night date night was a blast!
We started out with some laundry basket rides.
Can you tell how excited Eli was about this activity?

It doesn't show in these pictures, but he really does love doing this.  When we would get ready to start we would go beep, beep, beep, and then take off running.  With each beep his smile got a little bigger.  :)

After a while we decided to give E a try.

We loaded up his favorite buddies...
Bananas (the Gorilla) and Bronco (the horse)

We tied the rope to his belt loop and he took off.  He went strait to his new favorite spot...

The bathroom.

The toilet to be exact.
Yes, he has discovered that there is water inside.
Since then he has thrown a magnet, a binki, and my cellphone into the toilet.

After we put Eli to bed the real fun began.  It came in the form of Just Dance.
And let me tell you, it was so much fun.  We played for 2 1/2 hours!

Inspired by these little boys... we decided to video ourselves.  Ya know, for a good laugh.
Well, laugh we did and now we are passing on the laughter.

DISCLAIMER:
I'm positive we have both had better performances in our very successful dancing careers. ;)

SONG ONE
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go

SONG TWO
Hey Ya

To end on a more attractive note...

Our weekend ended with a drive up the canyon to see the fall colors.
They were spectacular.  While I was so happy soaking in the beauty around me I couldn't help but notice the dread that was also present.  I began to realize that all too quickly the gold, yellows, and reds will give way to white.  I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet.

So, heres to hoping for a few more sunny fall days.

Our Weekend

We had a great weekend!  It was warm we did fun stuff and spent lots of time together.  It doesn't get much better than that!  Friday night we went on a DATE.  Michael and I realized last week that we have not been doing a very good job at "dating" each other.  Yes we go out to dinner every once in a while and we watch movies together, but it's been a long time since either one of us has planned a date that makes the other feel special because we took just a little time over the week to plan something.  This week was my week to take Michael on a date.  And I must say it turned out great!

Michael had been talking all week about how there were some two player games he wanted to get so that we could play games, just the two of us.  On Friday I picked up two of the games and we borrowed my mom's wii.  I printed up a score sheet and bought some "gold medals".  Making the score card and grabbing gold medals really made the date.  They took it from fun to fabulous.  Here's how it worked.... We played each game and the winner of the game or round won a gold medal.  It was a lot of fun.  Michael and I enjoy a little competition in our relationship.

Meet our "Gold Medal" Date

And I must point out the medal count.

Saturday afternoon we went on a hike.  Nothing too intense, just fun.  It was nice to get outside and enjoy the sun on our skin.  After we walked along the trail for a while we walked down to Rock Canyon Park where we had the most delicious chicken salad sandwiches!  They are seriously SO good.  (More about the good food we have been enjoying coming later).

Sunday was fabulous, as always.  We drove up to West Jordan to hear my sister Jessika give her homecoming talk.   She just got back from her 18 month mission to Leeds, England.   Afterwards we went to our own ward where E decided not to sleep and was loud through all 3 hours of church.  When we got home he found a new chew toy.
