We had a great weekend! It was warm we did fun stuff and spent lots of time together. It doesn't get much better than that! Friday night we went on a DATE. Michael and I realized last week that we have not been doing a very good job at "dating" each other. Yes we go out to dinner every once in a while and we watch movies together, but it's been a long time since either one of us has planned a date that makes the other feel special because we took just a little time over the week to plan something. This week was my week to take Michael on a date. And I must say it turned out great!
Michael had been talking all week about how there were some two player games he wanted to get so that we could play games, just the two of us. On Friday I picked up two of the games and we borrowed my mom's wii. I printed up a score sheet and bought some "gold medals". Making the score card and grabbing gold medals really made the date. They took it from fun to fabulous. Here's how it worked.... We played each game and the winner of the game or round won a gold medal. It was a lot of fun. Michael and I enjoy a little competition in our relationship.
Meet our "Gold Medal" Date
And I must point out the medal count.
Saturday afternoon we went on a hike. Nothing too intense, just fun. It was nice to get outside and enjoy the sun on our skin. After we walked along the trail for a while we walked down to Rock Canyon Park where we had the most delicious chicken salad sandwiches! They are seriously SO good. (More about the good food we have been enjoying coming later).
Sunday was fabulous, as always. We drove up to West Jordan to hear my sister Jessika give her homecoming talk. She just got back from her 18 month mission to Leeds, England. Afterwards we went to our own ward where E decided not to sleep and was loud through all 3 hours of church. When we got home he found a new chew toy.

You're amazing! We really need to do some fun things like this...it is easy to forget the dating part of marriage but it's so important.
