Conference Weekend

This past weekend was General Conference and it was AMAZING.  I feel so uplifted and ready to make the changes and course corrections counseled by our living prophet and apostles.  I'm so grateful for the messages that were shared and the peace that we felt as we listened to those great men testify of the truthfulness of the gospel and of our Savior Jesus Christ.  To learn more about General Conference and the messages that were shared,  click HERE

OUR WEEKEND
Michael and I watched conference at home on Saturday and then decided to head up to Salt Lake on Sunday.  No, we didn't have tickets, but we decided to stand on a corner and try to get tickets.  I know that LOADS of people do this so we didn't really think our chances were that great.  But, seeing as our new little man will be here soon, future sessions will be slightly harder to attend.  So with our BRIGHT ORANGE sign in hand we headed up North hoping to get into at least one session.  When we got to Salt Lake we discovered that our "secret" parking lot was full.  So we headed to the "free conference parking lot" only to find that that too was full.  They directed us to a parking garage that we passed on our way into the city that still had plenty of spaces.  By the time we parked we didn't have ANY time to try and make it into the conference center.  So we watched the first session in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

After a quick trip back to the car to eat our homemade lunch we started walking toward the conference center holding up our BRIGHT ORANGE sign.  Michael made me hold the sign thinking more people would have pity for the pregnant lady. :)  On our way I overheard a man say that he had extra tickets and he gave two away.  I stopped Michael and asked him to go and see if he had anymore.  Guess what...he did!  So with tickets in hand we booked it across the street to the conference center.  You see, you are supposed to be in your seats 30 minutes before the session begins and at that point it was exactly 30 minutes before the next session.  We hopped into the right line and waited for what seemed like FOREVER in the HOT sun.  But we made it in.  We were the last people in our line to make it in the doors and we made it to our seats with  3 MINUTES to spare!  Not too shabby!  Then we relaxed and enjoyed a great session of conference!
