Dealing with a class that talks, and talks, and talks... hard.
Dealing with off task students for 6.5 hours a day... SUPER hard.
Having students talk back to you and be disrespectful...CRAZY hard.
Walking into class and seeing this on the front board...PRICELESS!
Or having a student bring me this after I had to email his mom because of his behavior...another PRICELESS moment.
My student Elisabeth made the graduation poster and then had the class sign it. When I walked into my room Monday morning I just smiled. It was so nice to know that my students were thinking of me when I was gone. I may not get to see that they like me everyday and that is one thing that can make teaching hard, but moments like that make it all worth it. As far as Ty's letter...the only reason I post it is because he came to school sorry, but so happy to do better the next day. And he was!!! He still had his adorable personality and little quirks that only Ty has, but he was so much better and because of that I know he learned a lot more. I love my job.

I love this post! You have had a hard you but you have handled it with style! Love you.
PS: Ty is gonna be in my class, advice please?
Isn't it funny how you learn to LOVE the smallest things in teaching? A student told me last week how much he appreciates have a younger teacher that actually gets out her desk to help kids. That comment kept me feeling so grateful for my job everyday!
It's always the small things that keep us going as educators.
I'm glad your students thought to congratulate you.
How sweet!
i am sure it's those things that really keep you going when it gets tough! so sweet.
That is so sweet! If it was me I would probably be in tears if I saw something like that being done. Good job for handling your students so well.
So cute!! I especially love the note from Ty. It's so funny how we can't be too mad at them for too long because then they'll turn around and do something cute
Hey Mike and Brittany! Good seeing you guys, hope things are going well!
